Our Story

How did we
get here?

According to the National Geographic, “A waypoint is a reference point that helps us know where we are and where we’re going.  Whether we are walking, driving, sailing or flying, waypoints help us find our way.”

All of life is a journey and it is one that we all must travel.  We are born and we die and we will all spend eternity somewhere.

Some have erroneously stated that the destination doesn’t matter, it’s the journey that is what’s important.  Well, I seriously disagree with that kind of thinking.  I believe that the direction of our life determines our destiny and it is very important that you end up in the right place.

When using a compass to navigate, just an error of one degree of lateral drift means that you will be a hundred yards off your target in only a half mile!

“Waypoints help us know where we are and where we are going.” We need to stop, think, observe and plan (STOP) not only in a survival situation, but also in our daily lives.

  • “ Teaching others about the outdoors is a privilege and it is our responsibility to leave a legacy to those who come after us of care and respect for the world we’ve been given“
